High School Teachers

Rachel Truelove-Tedham

Born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan, I attended TC Central High School and then Grand Valley State University where I majored in math and minored in English with a secondary education emphasis. Having played basketball in high school, I joined the rowing team at GVSU and spent four years competing in regattas across the country and even overseas. After graduating from GVSU in 2007, I taught math and English at Northview High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan for 13 years before moving back up north and becoming a Laker in the fall of 2021.

At the start of my teaching career I spent four summers working as a camp counselor at Kennolyn Camps in Soquel, California where I met my husband Patrick. We were married in 2011 and since then have spent most of our time training for triathlons and being outdoors as much as possible with our golden retriever named Bear. In August of 2020, we welcomed our son, and future Laker, named Bowdie into the world and are loving being a family of four living in this beautiful area of northern Michigan we call home.
