Ashley Larimer-Kelly

Bachelor of Arts in Music Education K-12 from Albion College

Mrs. Larimer-Kelly has served Glen Lake Community Schools as the director of Vocal Music since 2011. She directs the high school vocal ensemble, North By Northwest, as well as Middle School Choir, 6th Grade Choir, and 5th Grade Choir. Mrs. Larimer-Kelly also teaches Elementary General Music and has had the pleasure of directing the Glen Lake Musical Theatre productions "Pal Joey", "The Little Mermaid", "Oliver!", "Aladdin", "Into The Woods", and "The Wizard Of Oz". Under her direction, Glen Lake vocal music ensembles perform at numerous concerts throughout the year, sing for various community organizations and service projects, and participate in Michigan Schools Vocal Music Association's Solo & Ensemble Festival as well as Choral Festival.

Mrs. Larimer-Kelly is very passionate about choral music. As an educator in the Glen Lake Community Schools, she shares her love for music with her students and seeks to use this interest to inspire musical literacy, music appreciation and advanced choral performance. Her goal is to use music as a tool for character development while focusing on creative expression, teamwork, work ethic, and internal motivation. Glen Lake has a wealth of talented students and Mrs. L. can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together as a school and as a community!

Outside of school, Mrs. Larimer-Kelly enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves hiking, camping, fishing, boating, skiing, and continues to sing in local ensembles and solo whenever possible. Mrs. Larimer-Kelly currently directs the NMC Children’s Choir, Ragazzo, and has directed the Manistee Benzie Area Children’s Chorus.
