High School Teachers
I teach Spanish at the secondary level. I found my way to Glen Lake after teaching in Traverse City, New Jersey, and before that, in the West African nation of Cameroon while serving our country as a Peace Corps volunteer. Being a teacher is actually my third career! Before entering the world of education, I spent multiple years in the airline industry working at the nation's capital while attending the University of Maryland. I later completed my masters and became a news reporter, then a sports reporter and anchor for the local NBC affiliate in Northern Michigan. I still put those skill to use announcing Laker sporting events! I received a B.A. in Spanish from The University of Maryland, an M.S. in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University and a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Valley State University.
The sense of community and dedicated staff are just a couple of things that attracted me to Glen Lake. I love the benefits of working within a PreK-12 school, guiding students through multiple levels of World Language, as well as having the opportunity to see my daughters in the hallways each day. I love to travel and learn about different cultures. My wife and I enjoy living in Northern Michigan with our twin daughters.
