I live in Traverse City above our store, West Side Beverage, with my husband, Tom, and son, Carson. Carson goes to Traverse City West and will graduate in 2022. My daughter, Corrine, lives in Grand Rapids and is applying to graduate schools and hoping to earn her doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In my free time, I love to create by cooking, baking, painting, sewing, and knitting, and also being outside going for long walks, kayaking, and biking. But my favorite thing to do is curl up with a really good book:) Words to live by, “Do what challenges you!”
When I became a mom, I became fascinated with child development and how we learn. So I went back to school and earned a second Bachelor’s degree. I started my teaching career at Glen Lake in 2002 teaching Young 5’s and Kindergarten and went back to GVSU to earn my Master’s of Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. Through Northcentral University, I earned my Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership in 2018. Now I am privileged to work with all of the elementary grade students and staff as the Instructional Coach and Interventionist. I started my teaching career here and plan to end it here as well because I absolutely love being a Laker and working within this amazing community! #LakerforLife
