Preschool Enrollment & Information

Glen Lake Preschool is licensed through the state of Michigan for children ages 3-5. We provide an environment that is structured consistent and allows children to explore and learn through play.

Programs offered at Glen Lake

3 year old tuition based program- Children are 3 by November 1st. Options include a Monday-Friday schedule or Tuesday-Thursday schedule.

4 year old GSRP program- This is a free state funded program for eligible children that are 4 by September 1st or turning 4 by December 1st. This is a Monday-Thursday program and two home visits are offered by the teacher/s as well.

Children in both programs are required to be independently potty trained meaning they do not wear pull-ups or diapers during the day or rest time. Children that are independently potty trained are able to recognize when they need to use the restroom and are able to take care of their personal needs with help when needed.

Our programs use the Creative Curriculum to promote children’s development and learning. Activities are planned around the children’s interests and knowledge. Interactions with each child are not only developmentally appropriate but also meaningful so that social-emotional growth can occur along with their learning being a positive experience.

Our preschool runs on the same schedule with the exception of our GSRP program (students start one week later and get out one week earlier) as the rest of Glen Lake. We start our day at 8:09 am and are dismissed at 3:09 pm. Our preschool students that are in the district are able to take advantage of our bus transportation to and from school.

Not sure if your child is ready for preschool?

Even though your child is age ready they may not be developmentally ready. Below are some key points that can help you decide if your child is ready for preschool.

*Able to take care of a few basic needs (washing hands, eats snack and lunch without much assistance, able to dress themselves (with help when needed)

*Independently potty trained

*Follows simple directions

*Interested in planned activities with peers

*Do they have the stamina? We follow a busy consistent routine and it can be exhausting for our youngest lakers. We do have a rest-time after lunch. All children are expected to stay on their mats for a short period of time whether they fall asleep or not. Their little minds and bodies need this time to relax and grow after having time outside, structured and free choice activities.

If you feel that your child is doing most of the above and you are interested in them becoming a Glen Lake Laker then please click on the link below to get started.
