I have been a Glen Lake Laker since the fall of 2011. I am a Yooper, originally from Houghton, way up in the Keweenaw Peninsula. I love to read, garden, travel, and be active with my family. I have three kids, all Lakers, a wonderful husband and a sweet pup named Rey. We enjoy exploring the outdoors through hiking, skiing, swimming, and paddling in our beautiful area.
I have taught a variety of grades in both Vermont and Michigan and have explored different career options within education, before discovering that my heart is happiest working with elementary-aged students. I currently teach fifth grade and absolutely love this age group! I love reading with students, talking about books, working with students to improve their reading and writing skills and challenging them to think critically about the ideas within a text in many different ways. At Glen Lake, our students are the best of the best and I am so happy I get to work with our fifth graders every day.
