Girls Who Code
We are so excited to announce Stepping Into Girls Who Code! Computer Science (CS) and technology are growing fields. What is this event? It's a fun night of food, CS, computational thinking, and joy for students in 5th-8th grades. The activities will include "plugged" and "unplugged" opportunities for learning about coding, computational thinking, and technology. We will also have a few area local professionals to share about what they do and how they got into their jobs.
If you have students in that age range that would be interested in attending, please share this with them. Sign up here or use the QR code on the attached flyer.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Shelly VanderMeulen at svandermeulen@northwested.org or by phone at (231) 714-4168.

Coffee with the Counselor
Dear Laker Parents, please join me and other fellow elementary
parents/guardians on Friday, November 18th at 8:10 for coffee with the
counselor. This month we will talk about ways to help your child cope with
stress, and how to shift from a “stress hurts” to a “stress helps” mindset.
There will also be a time for open discussion, so please feel free to come
with any questions or concerns you may have. I hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fisher
